In 2013, Cowell said that it "took him 10 minutes to put them together as a group". On 23 November 2013, in support of Midnight Memories, the band participated in "1D Day",a day dedicated to One Direction fans. “linkin Park”名字的由來
主唱切斯特·本寧頓加入后，樂團起初希望起名為“Hybrid Theory(混合理論）”即他們首張專輯的名字。但后來發現已經有了名為“混合（Hybrid）”的樂團，使得他們只好改名。候選的名字（有嚴肅的主意也有惡搞）有：“清晰”（Clear）（樂隊成員們的最愛），“Probing Lagers”（也是樂隊成員們認為最不可能被采用的），“Ten PM Stocker”（因為他們每天都會在Stocker街的錄音棚錄音到晚上10點）以及“Platinum Lotus Foundation”。最后，他們采納了本寧頓的提議，將樂隊定名為林肯公園（Lin買粉絲ln Park），因為每天樂隊的例行練習結束回家時，他都會駕車路過這里。然而，“lin買粉絲lnpark.買粉絲”這一域名的申請費用遠遠超出了樂隊能夠承擔的范圍，所以他們更改了拼寫，最終定名為“Linkin Park”。
